Valencia

Valencia is a popular destination with both domestic and foreign tourists. This makes it an open, welcoming city that is well versed in catering for visitors. It has direct flights to over 50 international cities and is the ideal location for meetings and congresses that bring together delegates from different places. The high-speed train links the city to Madrid in 90 minutes and the airport connects Valencia to the rest of the world. It has a range of services on offer, which include plenty of quality accommodation, restaurants and places to eat for all tastes and pockets, and a comprehensive public transport network. It also has a broad range of cultural, shopping and leisure activities on offer with unique places to unwind and do sport, such as the former river bed which is now a huge long garden.

World Design Valencia Capital 2022 Our city boasts a long tradition of design and innovation. Historians highlight up to nine centuries of Valencian creativity, which is now reaching its peak on the international stage. Valencia has been designated as World Design Capital 2022 by the World Design Organisation, which has chosen a Spanish city for the first time in its history.

Valencia, a benchmark in sustainability It is the first city in the world to certify and verify the carbon footprint of its tourist activities and has been recognised as a 'Smart Sustainable City' by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the UN's specialist agency for information and communication technologies (ICT). Another of the milestones that make it one of the most sustainable cities on the planet is the number of parks and gardens it has in and around the city, which total five million square metres, in addition to over 156 kilometres of cycle lanes. As part of its sustainable urban mobility strategy, it has added hybrid and electric buses to its vehicle fleet, and it is also a leader in sustainable gastronomy thanks to the creation of the World Sustainable Urban Food Centre (CEMAS), an initiative promoted by the Valencia City Council and the FAO to raise public awareness of the importance of eating food that helps to protect the environment.
